The United Kingdom Coalition for People Living with Obesity (UKCPO) was proud to be present at this year’s European Congress on Obesity (ECO), held in Málaga, Spain. Over the course of the three-day conference, UKCPO engaged with a wide range of sessions, workshops, and discussions that highlighted the latest research, strategies, and lived experiences around obesity care and advocacy.
ECO 2025 provided an excellent platform not only for learning and collaboration but also for strategic reflection. During the conference, the UKCPO management team came together for a dedicated meeting to map out our priorities for the next 6 to 12 months. This valuable time allowed us to focus on how best to strengthen our support networks, enhance our educational efforts, and continue to amplify the voices of those living with obesity across the UK.
Importantly, the conference also allowed for meaningful in-person engagement with several members of our advisory group who were also in attendance. These conversations reinforced the importance of lived experience at the heart of our work and offered valuable insights to help shape our direction moving forward.
As UKCPO continues to grow, international conferences like ECO not only connect us with global developments but also serve as a timely reminder of the power of collaboration, shared experience, and informed advocacy. We look forward to building on this momentum in the months ahead.
